If you’ve seen factory girl as many times as I have (not likely) or even seen it once it is pretty undeniable how absolutely adorable Sienna Miller is portraying one of my favorite tragic beauties Edie Sedgwick.

After the first time I saw it I must say all I wanted to do was pile on the eyeliner, throw on a pair of earrings the size of a small child and wear shift dresses everyday. Which is why I am so excited that our spring and summer runways have been showing just that. Finally we can walk down the street like Nancy Sinatra and not be questioned about which costume party we’re attending. Almost every designer from Moschino to Chanel sent their girls down the runway with mini skirts and mini dresses. As we peek at fall we see the trend continue with graphic print coats and chunky boots.

Though the runway features adorable little models with sky-high bouffants and graphic eyeliner we all know that doesn’t always translate into everyday wear. So how do we do this reasonably? Well Diane Von Furstenberg is one of my favorite designers that has managed to keep the mod and graphic feel throughout her line since it started. Her silhouettes are simple, so if a Pucci mini skirt/crop top set and platform boots don’t fit your daily schedule (lets just be honest) then her dresses will be your new best friends. I see her classic wrap dresses come into the store often and every single time it takes most of my will not to snatch it up.

Another designer that has managed to keep mod revival reasonable is Missoni. Their airy chiffon dresses have just enough sixties in them to make a statement but can be easily worn casually with sandals or flat ankle boots and at night with heels and added accessories. (Maybe those giant earrings no?)

Now that “Boho” is making its way out (we’ll miss you!) It is time to make some room in our closets for some stripes and big earrings because mod is back!
